Misfits cuenta la historia de cinco adolescentes que cumplen con un servicio a la comunidad. Durante una tormenta eléctrica, el grupo es alcanzado por un rayo y adquieren poderes especiales. Kelly (Lauren Socha) recibe el don de la telepatía, Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett) adquiere la capacidad de volver atrás en el tiempo, Alisha (Antonia Tomás) puede enviar a la gente a un frenesí sexual cuando tocan su piel, Simon (Iwan Rheon) puede hacerse invisible y Nathan (Robert Sheehan) posee el poder de la resurrección. A pesar de vivir vidas normales pronto los poderes y otros afectados por la tormenta terminaran por cambiárselas.
